In this hands-on, eco-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to make paper from banana stems—discovering how plant fibers can be transformed into beautiful, durable sheets using simple, sustainable methods. Together, we’ll explore the magic of working with natural materials, tapping into your creativity while learning directly from nature.
Participants will also be introduced to other plants that grow throughout South Florida and the Caribbean, many of which have been used historically for fiber-making in textiles and a wide variety of handcrafted materials.
At the end of the session, you’ll use your freshly made banana paper to design a unique subtropical-inspired holiday card—perfect for gifting to someone special or keeping as a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
